In 2005, Colorado Wellness Connection, LLC launched our travel health division. We offer pre-travel consultations, provide the latest in travel health information, customized reports and travel immunizations.

Travel health and medicine has evolved into a distinct specialty in recent years as the number of people making international trips, especially to developing countries and off the beaten path,has mushroomed. In 2003 over 32 million US residents traveled to international destinations including developing countries throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia and Africa.

It's important to have the latest information and immunizations for travel to certains international destinations. Knowing about and protecting yourself from insect and water borne diseases is critical for keeping healthy while traveling.

According Bradley Connor, MD, of the New York Center of Travel and Tropical Medicine and recently reported in the Wall Street Journal, "Nurses do a much better job at pre-travel counseling than a physician running from appointment to appointment."
